Last updated: 26 June 2026 Snapline (“the extension”) is a browser extension that lets you capture a screenshot of a web page and annotate it with boxes, highlighter, pen, and text, then export the result as an image or PDF. This policy explains how Snapline handles your information. In short: it doesn’t collect any.

Data we collect

None. Snapline does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information or user data. We have no servers that receive your data, no analytics, no tracking, and no accounts.

How Snapline works

Everything Snapline does happens locally, inside your own browser, on your own device. When you capture a screenshot, the image is processed in your browser. When you annotate it and export it as a PNG, JPEG, or PDF, the file is saved directly to your device. Your screenshots and the pages you capture are never sent to us or to any third party. They never leave your computer unless you choose to share them yourself.

Permissions

Snapline requests only the minimum browser permissions needed to function. The activeTab permission is used to capture a screenshot of the page you are currently viewing, only when you click the Snapline icon. The scripting permission is used to display the annotation editor on the page so you can mark up your screenshot. These permissions are used solely to provide the extension’s features. They are not used to collect or transmit any information.

Third parties

Snapline does not share data with third parties, because it does not collect any data. It contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking code. All software libraries used by the extension are bundled within it and run locally; nothing is loaded from external servers at runtime.

Children’s privacy

Snapline does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
