If your organisation is a registered NDIS provider, today matters. 30 September 2026 is the last day PRODA can be used to log in to the NDIS Commission portal. From tomorrow, access requires myID and Relationship Authorisation Manager, and providers who haven’t finished setting both up will be locked out. Here’s the plain-language guide to what’s changing and what to check before close of business.
Why This Catches Providers Out
Many providers think they’ve already done this, and that’s the trap. The NDIA’s myplace provider portal, used for claims and service bookings, moved to myID and RAM last year, and PRODA stopped working there on 10 November 2025.
The NDIS Commission portal is separate. It has been running a transition period since late 2025, during which PRODA still worked. That transition ends today. So an organisation can be fully set up for claiming and still be about to lose access to the Commission side.
What You Lose If You’re Not Ready
The Commission portal isn’t optional for a registered provider. It’s where you manage your registration, lodge reportable incidents, handle complaints and access audit documentation.
Reportable incidents carry statutory notification timeframes. Being unable to log in doesn’t pause those obligations, which is why losing access is a compliance risk, not just an inconvenience.
The Two Steps, in Order
Everyone who needs access must set up their own Digital ID using the myID app, with at least Standard identity strength. myID is linked to the person, not the organisation, so it’s best set up with a personal email address.
Your organisation’s principal authority, typically a director or owner, must link the business in RAM first. That person needs Strong identity strength, which generally means an Australian passport and a face scan through the app. Once the business is linked, the principal authority can authorise staff in RAM to act on the organisation’s behalf.
The most common gap is a staff member whose myID is set up but who was never authorised in RAM. Check every person who submits incident reports or manages registration, not just the principal authority.
A Quick Checklist for Today
Confirm your principal authority has linked the business in RAM. Confirm every staff member who uses the Commission portal has a myID at Standard strength and an active RAM authorisation. Have each of them log in to the Commission portal today using myID, rather than assuming it will work tomorrow. And make sure more than one person can lodge reportable incidents, so a single absence doesn’t leave you exposed.
Another Change Landing Today
Twenty-two NDIS support item numbers also retire on 30 September 2026. They include two flat-rate community nursing items and the plan manager setup fee, which has no replacement. Claims made against a retired item after its end date will be rejected, so check your claiming templates and software are updated.
Who This Doesn’t Affect
This cutover applies to providers, quality auditors and government agencies. Participants, including those who self-manage or use a plan manager, aren’t affected by today’s change.
If you’re locked out tomorrow, contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544 straight away, and keep a record of any incident you couldn’t lodge on time and why. Setup guidance is on the NDIS website.
The Bottom Line
Today is the last day PRODA works for the NDIS Commission portal. From tomorrow, registered providers need myID and RAM to manage registration, lodge reportable incidents and access audit documents. Check that your principal authority has linked the business, that every relevant staff member is authorised, and that they can actually log in today. And update your claiming for the 22 retired support items. This is general information, not legal or compliance advice.
